Be Careful With Wireless Technology

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

We all want to live a better life and we normally depend on the latest technology to make our lives simpler. Today, we cannot think of spending a second without technology. From the moment we wake up to the moment we sleep we are surrounded and dependent on the latest technology that simplifies our work. However, too many gadgets in the room can make the room more complicate and therefore wireless technology is the latest thing on the trend. Today, most technological gadgets are wireless and can be connected with other devices through Bluetooth and infrared technology but does too much of wireless technology put our health at risk?

Many discussions are going on that mobile radiations could cause brain cancer but there is no clear-cut evidence to prove this among people. People think currently that while using wireless technology, the signals used by us could not be felt by normal eyes and it is problematic. Dr. Jeffrey Fawcett and many others have stated due to wireless applications and devices, there could be biological and health effects which is not clear in 1st instance.

In Europe, there are 100 various studies which moved around based on wireless technology that impact human health. It was considered that in forty seven cases, it was discovered that because of use of wireless devices and applications, there was increase in cancer risks and 69% increase in chances of cell destruction. By using gadgets and wireless applications the immune system gets reduced to certain extent since cell structure becomes damaged inside us. As per research carried out under wireless applications, it could lead to behavioral, physiological and neurological effects.

During 2007, the BioInitiative working group which includes 14 researchers and scientists, there was a report on the situation which mentioned clearly that based on studies conducted, it was considered that electromagnetic fields related with gadgets and wireless applications could hurt the structure of human cells. Health issues like DNA damage, leukemia, brain and nerve damage, low immunity and increase in stress could be created due to this. Report also stated that wireless gadgets such as routers and mobiles are general gadgets which people use which cause such health problems.

There was lot of discussion on this subject in Canada in which there were health problems among school students in which parents started blaming that wireless internet routers led to the problem. Parents considered that only after installation of those routers children had neurological effects and chronic headaches. A clinical psychiatrist at Columbia University, Michael First stated that there is no clear proof that radio frequency radiation could have negative side effects on health.

Dry Sensitive Skin

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Dry skin is very frequently sensitive as well, which only makes it more difficult to care for. Dry sensitive skin feels tight because of the deficiency of natural oils and has a tendency to develop small expression lines that will eventually become wrinkles. Furthermore, this kind of skin makes one more exposed to allergic reactions, rashes, capillaries breaking and sudden flushes. Therefore, the taking care of dry sensitive skin proves quite a challenge at times. It is worth mentioning the fact that it afflicts people regardless of age, colour or gender.

You have to follow rigorous steps in your choice of cleansing, moisturising and make-up products if you have dry sensitive skin to take care of. First of all, you have to minimize the amount of products you put on your face. The fact is, the more chemicals you come into contact with, the higher the chance of getting rashes. The products have to be fragrance-free and hypo-allergenic so that you don’t develop red, irritation blotches. Blusher and foundation can pose some problems for dry sensitive skin.

Try not to use too much make-up in order to permit your skin to breathe properly. When you are shopping for make up, other than looking for the hypo-allergenic label, you should also try to make sure that they are oil-free. Foundation and blusher should be water-based because they won’t clog your pores. Furthermore, oil-absorbing foundations are not recommended for dry sensitive skin, because they will make your skin even drier.

It is also not to be recommended that you use exfoliants or astringent products on dry sensitive skin because they could irritate the thin epidermis. The same thing has to be said in relation to cleansing – too frequent washing of the face means eliminating the natural oils that oil the skin, which will produce increased dryness.

Furthermore, the day-time moisturiser ought to have an incorporated SPF (sun-protection factor) of at least 15. However, although you may like sunbathing, dry sensitive skin doesn’t really allow you to enjoy such outdoor pleasures.

Don’t expose dry sensitive skin to the sun in order to tan it, because you will only achieve premature ageing and possibly even fairly serious health issues. And last but not least, a warning must be signalled that you should change some of your cosmetic products for others along the lines mentioned above.

If you decide to change to another skincare brand, it is important to test the product on a small patch of skin in order to check whether it triggers any allergic reactions.
